Staffing changes – Letter from Mr. Kauffman

Milford High School Band Parents,

This afternoon, I and the high school band staff met with all current band students to inform them of some staffing changes that will be taking place in the coming months.  Mr. John Espy and Mr. Jacob Carpenter have both made the decision to pursue professional opportunities outside of Milford.  As you may know, Mr. Espy has been taking courses to earn his school treasurer’s license and has been offered an opportunity to utilize that licensure and training as he moves into the next chapter of his educational career.  Mr. Carpenter has been presented with a tremendous opportunity to study and teach at the college level, while pursuing a graduate degree.  Both of these educators have brought so much to the Milford High School Band programs over the past several years, and while we are excited for the new opportunities in front of them, we will certainly miss what they bring to our children each and every day.  I am so grateful for their contributions to the Milford Band program.

We have already begun the process of seeking replacements for these two important positions.  In conjunction with Mr. Brown, we will aggressively pursue and recruit candidates to replace Mr. Espy and Mr. Carpenter.  I fully anticipate strong interest from teachers not just in the Cincinnati area, but throughout the entire Midwest.  As a passionate supporter of our band program, I am taking a personal interest in these hires and am committed to positioning our program for continued success.

I thank you for all of your continued support of our band program.  Without each and every one of you, Milford Bands would not experience the level of success we do.

Please join me in congratulating Mr. Espy and Mr. Carpenter in their new pursuits, and do not hesitate to contact me directly should you have any questions.

Go Band!

Sincerely,

Josh Kauffman
